Romotow is the brain child of us, the founding directors, Matt and Stuart. Conceived in our design studio (W2), Matt (the architectural designer) and Stuart (the structural engineer) had some downtime from their normal day to day lives designing dream homes and office buildings. Our minds wandered to transportable homes, and the kind of space they would want to spend their time in. It was apparent to us, when designing homes, that people love indoor - outdoor flow, a connection to the outdoors, but the comforts within their home. Our experience of camping, be that in tents, caravans or mobile homes, revealed an interesting irony, whilst camping you are immersed in nature, but whilst in your tent or caravan your would always be isolated from it. Sitting outside was often uncomfortable, wet or uneven ground, sand, bugs and the like often a frustration, and no real shelter from the weather unless you go inside. Caravan's also seemingly had not evolved much over time. And so the challenge was set, design a cool modern mobile home, with indoor - outdoor flow, the comforts of home with a seamless connection to nature no matter the weather.

 

And so Romotow was born.
